Hello

I am Marie Kimball.

I was born and raised in a small rural ethnic Cajun community in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. My father was a commercial artist and revered for his leaded glass creations. His best friend and my lifelong mentor was painter Francis Pavy who exhibits his "mystic zydeco expressionist" paintings internationally. My mother is a botanist and a healer. I grew up in a dynamic arts environment, surrounded by a community of creatives that formed a fascinating arts enclave in Louisiana. This mix of magical minds, fueled by music, cuisine, unique agriculture, and celebrated traditions, draws tourists, writers, musicians and artists from around the world.

I am constantly inspired by street art, nature, and designers such as Stefan Sagmeister. The power visual art possesses to inspire, connect, and heal viewers inspires me to move forward in purpose to coordinate more connections between art and the community.

It's very important to me that people see me as an asset; a capable creative committed to achieving our lofty goals, a clear communicator who puts it all out there, and an inspiring community member who draws people in with the power of what is possible.

I work independently now, helping others develop themselves, their brands and their business spaces through conversations and coordination of creative action.

I am looking to become part of a team focused on growth and development, and would enthusiastically

utilize my abilities to contribute to the enrichment of both your institution, and the enduring story of Door County's creative legacy.
